This is one of eight large pastel drawings I made after a summer spend sketching en plein air in the wild grasses and tall reed beds that hug the dunes at the Barmouth Beach, near Castlerock. I loved the movement and sounds the grasses made and wanted to try and capture this energy with some large gestural drawings.

Drawn in soft pastel and coloured pencil on Imperial size fine art paper (ht 56cm x w 76cm (22 x30 inches) . Framed in a white washed wood frame behind high quality non reflective art glass, which allows the colours of the pastels to be enjoyed without unwanted reflections and glare. Frame size: w 70cm by ht 90cm, depth 3cm.
